1. Our Commitment to Accuracy

Welcome to News Speak India. Our readers trust us to provide accurate and reliable information. We take this responsibility seriously. We are a multi-niche blog covering various topics, but our standard for truth remains high across all categories.

Our primary goal is to empower our readers with verified facts. We do not publish rumors, fake news, or misleading headlines. This policy explains how we verify information and how we correct mistakes if they happen.

2. Verification Standards (The “How-To”)

We follow a strict process before publishing any article. This ensures every piece of content meets our high standards.

Step 1: Sourcing Information

We only use credible sources. Our team looks for primary sources whenever possible.

  • Official Government Reports: We rely on data from legitimate Indian government portals (.gov.in) and international bodies.

  • Direct Quotes: We use direct statements from experts, officials, or companies involved in the story.

  • Reputable Media: We cross-check facts with established national and international news agencies.

What we avoid:

  • We do not use anonymous viral posts from social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, X) as a primary source.

  • We do not treat Wikipedia as a final source of truth.

Step 2: The Cross-Check

Author Tamal Nath and our editorial team verify all major claims. If a statistic looks wrong, we check the original data. If a quote sounds suspicious, we find the video or audio recording to confirm it.

Step 3: Image and Video Verification

In the age of AI and deepfakes, visuals matter. We check images to ensure they are not manipulated or taken out of context. We use tools like reverse image search to find the original source of a photo.

3. Compliance with Indian Law

News Speak India operates under the laws of the Republic of India. We fully adhere to the digital media regulations set by the government to ensure a safe online environment.

IT Rules, 2021

We follow the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We maintain a Code of Ethics that respects the sovereignty and integrity of India. We have a grievance mechanism in place to address any concerns from our readers.

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023

We are aware of the legal provisions regarding misinformation. Specifically, we strictly avoid publishing content that could violate:

  • Section 197: Imputations prejudicial to national integration.

  • Section 353: Statements likely to cause public mischief or fear.

We do not publish content that promotes enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, or language.

4. Non-Partisanship and Fairness

Our loyalty is to the truth, not to any political party, corporation, or advocacy group.

  • Political Neutrality: We report on political events objectively. We do not accept payments to promote a specific political agenda.

  • Commercial Transparency: If a company pays for a review, we will clearly label it as “Sponsored” or “Ad.” This ensures you know the difference between editorial content and paid advertising.

  • Fair Representation: We try to reach out to all sides of a story. If we criticize a public figure or company, we check if they have a public response or statement available.

5. Correction Policy

We are human, and errors can happen. When we make a mistake, we admit it and fix it fast. We do not hide our errors.

How we handle corrections:

  1. Spotting the Error: A reader or editor finds a mistake.

  2. Updating the Article: We correct the text immediately.

  3. Editor’s Note: We add a clear note at the bottom of the article. This note explains what was wrong and when we fixed it.

Example of a Correction Note:

Correction: An earlier version of this article stated the launch date as March 1st. The correct date is March 10th. We have updated the text to reflect this change.

If an article is factually devoid of truth, we will remove it entirely and publish a retraction statement explaining why.

6. User Reporting (The “See Something, Say Something” Rule)

We invite our community to help us maintain accuracy. If you see a fact that looks wrong, please tell us.

You can report a factual error directly to our editor. Please include the link to the article and the specific sentence you believe is incorrect.

7. Unnamed Sources Policy

We prefer to name our sources. This allows you, the reader, to verify our work.

However, in rare cases, we may use an unnamed source if:

  • The information is vital to the public interest.

  • The source faces a real threat of harm or retaliation.

  • We verify the source’s identity internally.

We will strictly limit the use of anonymous sources. We will always explain to readers why we granted anonymity in that specific instance.

In accordance with the IT Rules, 2021, we have a mechanism for you to register grievances regarding our content.
