Freelance and Contract Work

Many of our roles start on a freelance basis. We sign a clear contract with you. This contract follows the Indian Contract Act, 1872. It defines your scope of work, payment terms, and copyright ownership.

• Payments: We pay on time. We usually process payments monthly via bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS) or UPI to Indian bank accounts.

• TDS: We deduct Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) as per the Income Tax Act, 1961, if your earnings cross the threshold. You will receive Form 16A.

Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH)

We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all gender identities. Any form of verbal, physical, or digital harassment is strictly prohibited. We follow the guidelines of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. We investigate all complaints seriously.

Copyright and Originality

We respect Intellectual Property laws. We strictly forbid plagiarism.

• Your Work: When you write for us, you transfer the copyright to News Speak India. This allows us to publish and monetize the content.

• Third-Party Content: You must not copy text or images from other sites. You must use royalty-free images or images we own. Plagiarism puts our Google AdSense account at risk. It also violates the Copyright Act, 1957. We use paid tools to check every submission for plagiarism.

Data Privacy

We respect the privacy of our employees and applicants. We handle your personal data (CV, email, phone number) securely. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. We do not sell your data to third parties. We only use it for recruitment.

How Our Editorial Process Works

We want you to succeed. Here is what happens after you join:

1. Onboarding: You receive our “Style Guide.” This document explains how we write. It covers tone, formatting, and legal rules.

2. Topic Assignment: You can pitch ideas, or we give you topics. We use tools like Google Trends to find what people want to read.

3. Drafting: You write the article in Google Docs or WordPress.

4. Review: An editor checks your work. They check for Hemingway score (readability) and SEO.

5. Feedback: If changes are needed, we tell you kindly. We help you improve.

6. Publication: Your article goes live! You can share it with your network.

Note: We receive many emails. Please allow us 3-5 working days to respond. If shortlisted, we will schedule a short video interview.
